Today our 13U team had their best tournament of the season, and their volleyball careers! They started out strong beating both MVC 12U and Hamilton Smash 12U in the morning to get 1st in their pool. They were undefeated all the way to the semi-finals where they faced Niagara Rapids Summit, winning an exciting match with scores of 23-25, 25-20 and 16-14! The girls then went up against top ranked Halton Hurricanes Blue for the gold! Our girls didn't go down without a fight, taking the Hurricanes to 3 sets and hustling the entire game! A SILVER medal is such an exciting way for this team to end their OVA regular season! We are so proud of these girls and we know that they will continue to work hard at practice in preparation for the OVA Provincial Championships in April!

This past Saturday our 16U Vipers demonstrated teamwork and dedication, bringing home the BRONZE medal at the OVA McGregor Cup! We've always known that these girls had great potential so it very exciting to see them rewarded two weekends in a row!

The girls entered this tournament ranked 7th but that didn't stop them from defeating 6th ranked Waterloo Tigers Red in two straight sets in the morning, landing them 2nd place in their pool. The team then went on to defeat the Guelph Jr. Gryphons 15U Black team in the quarter finals with scores of 25-21 and 25-12. Unfortunately in the semis our girls fell short to a tough 2nd ranked Waves team, the team that later took gold. However, our girls were not done yet! They went up against 4th ranked MVC 15U and defeated them in 2 sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-22, securing the bronze medal!

This is also an exciting milestone for the Grimsby Volleyball Association as all 4 of our teams now have OVA medals for this season! Making the 2017/2018 season our most competitive season yet! We'd like to wish our 13U Vipers good luck in their final OVA tournament tomorrow as well!

Go Vipers!

Today was such an exciting day for our Viper family!

Our 14U girls fought hard at their exhibition tournament today bringing home the GOLD medal! We are so proud of this team's consistency and drive so far this season!

Our 15U girls also had a great day at their OVA tournament! They went undefeated all morning, winning their first three games in two sets. Our girls played great, only dropping sets to a tough 14U Hurricanes Blue team in the semis with scores of 21-25, 25-17 and 12-15. Moving into the Bronze medal game the girls had a bit of a slow start against the 14U Niagara Rapids Summit but managed to come back from a score of 18-24 winning 27-25, keeping the parents and coaches on the edge of their seats! The girls then went on to finish the second set with a convincing score of 25-18 securing our BRONZE medal!

We are so proud of all of our girls! Congratulations to the parents, coaches and players! Way to go Vipers!

We are so proud of our 13U Vipers for working so hard yesterday and coming home with a well earned BRONZE medal! We've always known that these young girls have so much potential so it is very exciting for us to see how far they are coming!

They played amazing finishing second in their pool, beating Niagara Rapids Summit 25-16, 25-15, and only falling to a tough Halton Hurricanes team with impressive scores of 27-29 and 21-25. Moving into the playoffs they beat EVP Red 25-21 and 25-18, but unfortunately fell behind Defensa in the semi-final. However, the Vipers were not done yet! They still had the energy and motivation to bring their A game to the 3rd place final. Our girls came out strong and beat the Hurricanes team they saw in the morning in two straight sets! Way to go Vipers!

Our 15U Vipers fought so hard this weekend and were rewarded with a SILVER medal! The team finished 1st in their pool and defeated all the teams they faced that day, but unfortunately met Hamilton Smash again in the final match and fell a little short scoring 22-25 in both sets. The girls just came off of a tough and exciting semi-final game against Brant Tornados beating them in 3 sets with scores of 23-25, 25-19 and 15-5! The girls reached a new record serving percentage of 92.5%, only missing 20 serves all day! Our hard work is definitely paying off and we are so proud of the improvements they have made already this season! Way to go Vipers!

14U Vipers bring home OVA Silver!

Today was another exciting day for our 14U Vipers! The team brought home a SILVER medal and will be moving up to Championship Division for their next OVA tournament in December!

The highlight of the day had to be the huge semifinal win over top-ranked Waterloo Tigers Black, with scores of 29-27 and 25-14! After this game the team continued to fight hard right to the very end of the finals, finishing close behind the Guelph Jr. Gryphons Black team with scores of 20-25 and 22-25.

We are so proud of our athletes for demonstrating resilience, energy and passion throughout the tournament! Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment!

Vipers on the Beach Podium!

This past weekend athletes from our 2016/2017 14U team competed in the OVA Beach Provincials in Toronto! This summer was their first time playing beach at a competitive level and we are so excited to say that we had TWO podium finishes at the final tournament.

Jasmine and Jenna won the GOLD in their division with Marleyse, and her friend Grace, right behind them with the SILVER! Also a special shoutout goes to Kristen and Julia who had the highest finish out of all of our girls! We are so proud of all of the Vipers that participated in the 2017 OVA beach season. We are already looking forward to next summer!

Congratulations girls! Go Vipers!
