15U take Bronze!

15U Vipers are back at it again with a great OVA tournament finish! Our girls won 4/5 games in two sets on Saturday, only falling to Brant Tornados Orange in the semi-finals. Earlier in the season when we faced this team in the semis we beat them in a close 3 sets, but unfortunately this time Brant came out on top and later went on to take gold. Coming off of the semis our girls played great in the BRONZE medal final, taking the win! 

We are very proud of this team for finishing in the top 4 in all four of their OVA tournaments this season, and landing in the top 3 in all but the first! They are really breaking through this season and we know they definitely have more to come! Seeing the potential in these girls is so exciting and we look forward to seeing them play in the provincials and in Pittsburgh at the end of the season! Go Vipers!  

14 & 15U Vipers Strike Again!

Today was such an exciting day for our Viper family!

Our 14U girls fought hard at their exhibition tournament today bringing home the GOLD medal! We are so proud of this team's consistency and drive so far this season! 

Our 15U girls also had a great day at their OVA tournament! They went undefeated all morning, winning their first three games in two sets. Our girls played great, only dropping sets to a tough 14U Hurricanes Blue team in the semis with scores of 21-25, 25-17 and 12-15. Moving into the Bronze medal game the girls had a bit of a slow start against the 14U Niagara Rapids Summit but managed to come back from a score of 18-24 winning 27-25, keeping the parents and coaches on the edge of their seats! The girls then went on to finish the second set with a convincing score of 25-18 securing our BRONZE medal!

We are so proud of all of our girls! Congratulations to the parents, coaches and players! Way to go Vipers!

Merry Christmas Vipers!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated the end of 2017 and the holiday season with us at our second annual Christmas Party! We had so much fun sharing great food, fun and laughter with our Viper Volleyball family! See you all in the new year!

Silver for the 15U Vipers!

Our 15U Vipers fought so hard this weekend and were rewarded with a SILVER medal! The team finished 1st in their pool and defeated all the teams they faced that day, but unfortunately met Hamilton Smash again in the final match and fell a little short scoring 22-25 in both sets. The girls just came off of a tough and exciting semi-final game against Brant Tornados beating them in 3 sets with scores of 23-25, 25-19 and 15-5! The girls reached a new record serving percentage of 92.5%, only missing 20 serves all day! Our hard work is definitely paying off and we are so proud of the improvements they have made already this season! Way to go Vipers!

Impromptu Viper Scrimmage Night!

When 3 gyms are unexpectedly lost for practice, what do you do? Take the lemons and make lemonade by crashing the 13U practice and having a club-wide scrimmage night! It was so much fun having all of our teams playing together in the same gym! 

Vipers' Generosity!

Victoria, on our 15U team, came up with the idea of donating a gift basket to the Basketeers. The Basketeers are a group of generous volunteers who provide some of the simple necessities and niceties of life to a woman, at a women's shelter, as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. The 15U's all agreed that this was a wonderful organization to support! Everyone on the team made a generous donation to the gift basket that will be delivered to one of the local Hamilton Shelters for Women of Domestic Abuse. What a great way to help someone in need.

Vipers on the Beach Podium!

This past weekend athletes from our 2016/2017 14U team competed in the OVA Beach Provincials in Toronto! This summer was their first time playing beach at a competitive level and we are so excited to say that we had TWO podium finishes at the final tournament.

Jasmine and Jenna won the GOLD in their division with Marleyse, and her friend Grace, right behind them with the SILVER! Also a special shoutout goes to Kristen and Julia who had the highest finish out of all of our girls! We are so proud of all of the Vipers that participated in the 2017 OVA beach season. We are already looking forward to next summer!
